Become a friend of Glasthule Opera

If you are not already a "Friend" of Glasthule Opera, please consider joining the list of people who help to make this possible. Together with our "Friends", Glasthule Opera can prosper and contribute to the promotion of Irish singers, conductors and directors and further enhance this beautiful area.

We are very lucky that a person of the caliber of Anne-Marie O'Sullivan has at long last founded a company to realise two of her life long dreams. The first is to help our brilliant young Irish singers by giving them an essential Irish platform for performance.
The second is to promote the availability of Opera to everyone. The citizens of Dublin have always had a strong love of opera as evidenced by the long queues for the Gods in the Gaiety. There is a very moving poem by the prize winning poet Sheila O'Hagan recalling the magic of being brought to an Opera in the Gaeity by her father as a very young child. It was an experience she never forgot and could recall with such clarity and feeling half a century later. Now the citizens of the relatively recent County of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown will be given the same opportunities.

Please remember Moliére's famous words:

... of all the noises known to man, opera is the most expensive

DLR Glasthule Opera seeks sponsors/business partners to engage in a long term cultural programme to enhance both business and community in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown. The Arts can be a valuable tool. We offer businesses exclusive access to creative and performance skills, brand engagement, entertainments, PR and press opportunities and skill-based workshops where the skills of the singer can be transferred to the corporate environment.

The first ever Opera Festival to take place in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown was in June 2009. DLR Glasthule Opera was launched at a Gala Evening on June 15th 2008 to a packed house at the Pavilion Theatre.

As a friend you will receive priority bookings, newsletters and notice of events throughout the year. The yearly subscription will be €50 and €80 for a couple. It will be the support of the public as friends that will ensure the success and full realisation of the project.

Given the resources Anne-Marie will work tirelessly and with spirit and enthusiasm to great effect. If you wish to become a Founding Friend please fill in, sign and send the Standing Order below
